|The story of God's love for His animals and all of creation.|
"Animals in heaven, that is ridiculous!" When people utter such statements I feel wounded and sad because of the many times I have known the unspeakable joy of relationship with animals. A lifetime of passion for God's creatures, searching the scriptures and the study of numerous books have laid the foundation for the message within these pages.
When it comes to animals going to heaven, opinions vary from "no way" to "of course they do." Considering both ends of the spectrum, very few people can back their opinions with more than "gut" feeling. My belief, based on evidence, is that scripture reveals to us that animals do go to heaven, without concretely stating it, just as there is evidence that infants and children go to heaven, which is not specifically stated either. God's love for infants, children, and animals is very clear throughout scripture. Infants and children are more precious to God because they are human and humans are made "in his image." In no way does that change the fact that God loves all of creation and because of that I believe he has made a way for all of creation to go to heaven. Animals play a most remarkable role in his divine plan and were created for his glory.
Grief over the loss of a pet is often laughed at by those who lack knowledge and understanding of God's perspective as revealed in his Word. I refuse to be ashamed or embarrassed over the deep grief I feel when I lose a pet because I know that God made my heart tender toward his creatures. God is not grieved by the passing of animals. He is fully aware of their safekeeping with him. However, he is moved by the pain we feel over the loss of relationship with one of his creatures and is available to comfort us in our loss.
Based on God's relationship to man, our God given relationship to animals, and God's obvious high regard and care for animals, I believe we can clearly see their eternal destiny. My prayer is that this book will soothe grieving hearts and offer hope to all who miss, beyond measure, their loving companions.

by Anne Murchison
Dee Drechsel Messerli is my friend. She is one of the most devoted, giving people I know. She has taken cancer patients to and from their chemotherapy treatments. She has been a Volunteer Guardian for elderly people in need of assistance. She stopped on an overpass to rescue a kitten hanging by a claw over the freeway. She has rescued and nursed more than one animal until they have absolutely no more desire to live, no matter how ill. She gives of her time, money and talent to those she loves. I love her.
Now that you know a little more about the author of the book, I can tell you that, though I have pets that are like members of the family and best friends, I have been stretched by Dee's love and devotion to animals. I wept as I read through the manuscript and thought of some of man's cruelty to animals.
People are more important to me than animals but Dee has sensitized me so much to their plight. I weep when I see a litter of puppies dropped off in the country where I live or kittens looking for food. My heart breaks when I see a dead dog in the middle of the road. I hate it that so many animals die never having known a loving human touch. It infurieates me that so many people train their animals to be mean by being mean to them.
Animals didn't sin. Man did. What an eye opener. I believe animals will be in heaven, and I am looking forward to playing with my dog, Mookie, where she will no longer shed on me. And I look forward to spending time with my friend Dee, and her pets, April, Freeway, Ruth, Boaz, Sandi Patti, Christian, Charity, Hope, Faith, Eutychus, Jacob, Noah, Queen Esther, Liberty, Tina, Isaiah, Shiphrah, Moses, Hannah, Benjamin, Sally, Suzette, Gretchen, Heiki, Joshua, Whirly, Twirly, Abigail, Hershey, Susanna, Joanna, Abraham, Isaac, Maybellene and Isaiah - just to name a few of those pets who have passed through Dee and her husband Dave's home.
You will be blessed by this book even if you only like animals a little bit.
To the Glory of God,
Anne Murchison is my very dear friend and the author of Milk for Babes Using the Bible to Find Answers to Life's Questions and Praise and Worship in earth as it is in heaven. Anne is the widow of former Dallas Cowboys owner Clint Murchison, Jr. and leads an active life as a speaker, writer and mother. She loves animals and has given of her time and financial resources to rescue and find placement for many animals. Anne's dog Mookie went to be with the Lord. Mookie had many friends that miss her very much but we celebrate the fact that she is happy with her creator. Anne now has two precious rescued Labs named Bella and Ben.
|The Authority of the Bible|
Every year the Bible, God's Word to man, is the best-selling book. Beginning with the creation of the world, the Bible takes us through the history of man and animals into eternity.
The Bible should be read with an eternal perspective because it clearly states we will all live throughout eternity in heaven or hell. I personally take this very seriously and look forward to eternity in heaven with the Lord, my family, friends, and my animal companions. What eternal bliss!
In order to understand the Bible one needs to know the difference between law and grace. God's law reveals our sinful rebellion and our inability to save ourselves. Grace is the defining difference between Christianity and all other religions. Other religions are based on what man must do and Christianity is based on what Jesus Christ has already done. God's grace is offered to us through the forgiveness of our sins, which he made possible through the death, burial, and resurrection of his son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
God's Word is best read with the whole of scripture in mind. In doing this we can determine the afterlife of animals.
Many people don't give animals much opportunity for hope when it comes to going to heaven, but thankfully, the future of animals is not dependent on the thoughts and ways of mankind but rather on the thoughts and ways of God. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord." (Isaiah 55:8)
In Psalms 119:105 it says, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." With this in mind, as we travel through the Bible, we can find the answer to everything we need to know - even the answer to:
